Weekend Update

First things first - The 100 Day Hustle link-up winner of the $25 Fat Quarter Shop gift certificate is Marla!

2-59 since #1 was my test link!

I did a bit of sewing this weekend and managed to finish my blocks for Jennifer's Hurricane Sandy Relief quilts.  She isn't collecting any more quilt blocks but is accepting other supplies like binding in order to finish all of the quilts.  Check out the Flickr group to see what is needed.  I made two of each color scheme and sent them out today.

I also had time to finish putting together my quilt top for the Tula Pink Sew Along that Sara organized.  I really wanted to use bigger cuts to showcase some of the larger prints.  This pattern is adapted from a tutorial video from Missouri Star Quilt Company.  The finished top measures 70"x70".  Now I need to decide how to quilt it - I'm stumped on what thread color to use!

Linking up at {Sew} Modern Monday as well!

  1. Woohoo. Thanks Kelsey!! What a great quilt top for the Tula Pink SAL. I especially like how the sashing creates a secondary focal point.

  4. Beautiful quilt top. I've had a lot of success with gray thread . . . works great on lots of colors and even looks good on white background too. Good luck!

  5. Beautiful quilt top! No idea what colour thread to use - maybe a grey or white?

  6. Gorgeous! I just love the Birds and the Bees. I find choosing a thread color for quilting is just about the hardest part of making a quilt for me. Wonderful work.

  8. Beautiful quilt! I would probably use a blue-green thread for quilting.

  10. Just another vote for gray thread - my new go to for quilts like this. It really does fade into all kinds of colors and looks nice on the white. Lovely work!
