WIP Wednesday - 2.15.12

I hope you had a great Valentines Day!  We don't really celebrate so I cleaned the house instead of sewed last night for the hubs while he was in class and he's going to take one of my sewing machines to get serviced for me - the perfect day!

I did move my sewing room down to the basement and I LOVE it!  It's warm, there's a TV now, and I have so much room :)

New Projects:
  • On a Whim - I'm making this in Ruby as a wedding gift for my cousin.  I'm giving it to them at Easter so I'm on a time table and spent all day Sunday and most nights this week down there working on this.  I love the pattern and it comes together quickly- I've got 10 of 20 blocks done so far- and I'm already planning what fabrics to make one for me in :)

Ongoing Projects:
  • Sew.Happy.Quilt. QAL - I did the block for last week which is another great one!  Clear directions and a cute block in the end.  Can't wait to finish all of them and see it put together.  I love this QAL - check out the Flickr group to see all the blocks!

  • Swoon - I've got three blocks done so far but it's kind of on hold while I work on the wedding quilt.  Check out all the awesome blocks in the Flickr group - over 800 people are swooning!!!
  • Made in Cherry QAL - I've put this aside for now - it was tiring to make :) The top is *mostly*done, I just need to add a thick border all the way around and then I think I'm going to send it out to be quilted.

Finishes:
  • Valentines Wall Hanging - A cute little heart wall hanging for Valentines day!  I need to get some pictures of it but I finished it this weekend and finally hung it up at 6:00 last night.  At least I'll have it for future years!

I'm linking up with Lee @ Freshly Pieced - go and see what everyone else is working on this week!

  2. The wedding quilt looks great! Making one for yourself sounds like a great idea; I have that idea sometimes too, but it never seems to actually happen.
    Thanks for sharing!

  3. I'm looking at quilt alongs for my next project and love both the made in cherry and swoon - which was most technically challenging and which did you enjoy the most? No pressure!

  4. That On a Whim quilt is lovely! And you definitely can't go wrong with that Ruby fabric. Great work. Also, I love your profile picture!
